Updated information to check out will be in red.
Eveleth Public Library is closed to the public
during the current Covid-19 situation.
Patrons can contact the library Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm for information during the closure, however no materials may be picked up at our location. All requests that designate Eveleth Public Library as a pick up point will be put on hold until such time as we are able to open or provide curbside service to our patrons. Patrons can request their items be picked up at another ALS member library. (See below for more specific information.)
The health and wellness of our staff and patrons is our main concern and the City of Eveleth did not make this decision lightly. Based on Governor Walz's Stay-at-Home order and earlier recommendations by the Minnesota Department of Public Health to limit the number of non-mandatory people in a public building, we feel this decision has been the best step to help deter the spread of COVID-19 in our community. As we move into "Stay Safe Minnesota" we will continue to monitor and act on those guidelines and recommendations as allowed.
Patrons can access the Arrowhead Library System's digital resources by clicking the button below. Now is a great time to check out the ALS ebook/e-audiobook portal Overdrive/Libby, read digital magazines from RBDigital, get Homework Help or JobNow Career Resources, solve an automotive problem with Chilton's, or use any of the other dozen free digital resources available on the ALS website.
If you do not have a library card and would like one, use the "Need a Library Card?" button to access the Arrowhead Library System Library Card Sign-up form. ALS will process your request, usually the next business day.

Circulation policy changes during the closure:
- OUR OUTDOOR BOOK RETURN IS OPEN. Please return any materials you have at your earliest convenience. Please note that ALL materials will go into a 7 day quarantine once removed from the Book Return before being processed for return, so the item will show up on your account until checked in. If you have any questions, please call 218-744-7499 or email [email protected]
- Fines: No Overdue fines accrued between March 13, 2020 and September 30, 2020 should appear on your account.
- Due dates: All due dates have been extended into September while library services are limited.
- Renew books online: Automatic renewals have ended system-wide by Arrowhead Library System. Patrons will need to contact the owning library about renewing any materials they have.
- Requesting physical items: At this time, and until further notice, patrons are not able to pick up requested items at the Eveleth Public Library. Eveleth patrons may request items for pick up at other ALS member libraries (Gilbert, Virginia, Mountain Iron, Aurora, & Hoyt Lakes). Eveleth Public Library participates in fulfilling requests for our materials. Requests may take longer than normal due to quarantine procedures.
- Consider checking out the electronic resources available through the Arrowhead Library System website.
- Eveleth Public Library will keep you informed as to our operational status through this website, the City of Eveleth website, and the Eveleth Public Library Facebook page as the situation changes.
