2021 "Reading Colors Your World" Summer Reading Fun at Eveleth Public Library!

Thank you for joining us as we continue to do our Summer Reading Program (SRP) at the Eveleth Public Library a bit different. So, while we still want everyone to READ, our focus is less on programs at the library building and more on HAVING FUN wherever you are! We have a Summer Reading Log and a Summer Activity Log that has a little reading on it too. We want everyone to be safe & have fun so here’s how things are going to go.
 
This year’s program will run from June 7th until July 31st.  Welcome Packets will be available for pick up at the library starting Monday June 7th through July 26th, so you can start any time along in June or July. 
 
Just as we did last year, all our projects are pre-bundled. Each week starting on Monday in June and July you can just pick up that week’s packet and go. Instructions and any additional supplies for the craft and STEAM projects will be included in each packet or check the website here to see the instructions with lists of what’s needed for the project, the projects’ sources, and links to templates and how-to videos (when available). 
  
Track your Reading Time on your reading log and let us know how you are doing. Every time you read 20 minutes in a day mark it down. Although we encourage you to read as much as you want, please be aware that you can only count 60 minutes (1 hour) per day towards and only 300 minutes (5 hours) per week. (In each week's packet we will have enough stickers for 300 minutes).  

Included in the packet is a Summer Fun Activity Log. When you complete an activity cross it off and date it. After you complete 2 activities in a section, color the corresponding section on the design. 

After June 21st anyone who has read at least 100 minutes can bring in their log to get a "Reading Colors Your World" activity booklet.  All other prizes will be awarded after August 2nd. Everyone who read 400 minutes or more will receive special prizes after August 2nd - August 21st.

(Kids who participated in the Eveleth Public Library 2020 Summer Fun and bring their brag tags any time in June will be able to pick out the free book they earned last year).
