HAVING FUN WITH TANGRAMS

​Tangram is a puzzle game that started in China and was brought to America by Captain M. Donnaldson in 1816. Made up of 7 flat pieces called tans, the puzzle is usually cut from one large square. The pieces – 2 large triangles, 1 medium-size triangle, 2 small triangles, 1 square, and 1 parallelogram can be put together in many ways.
Here’s some simple rules to remember when playing with tangrams:

• All 7 pieces are in each picture (unless the instructions for that picture say something different)
• All your pieces lay flat on the table.
• Tan pieces may touch other pieces, but they don’t overlap.

Try the shapes below & have fun creating whatever you can dream up! Start by building the triangle with 2 pieces, then 3 pieces, then 5 pieces , and then all 7 pieces.
